Three
Towns runs on a computer donated by Bean to Mu, the poverty-stricken admin/builder.
It's an Athlon XP 1500 system with 256MB DDR RAM, 2 RAID-striped 40GB
hard drives and cable connection with Windows 2000 Server. Memory leaks
are quashed with Customizer XP.
Memory
and CPU utilization in Three Towns are kept manageable despite the huge
size of the module through careful function scripting and limited heartbeat
events. Depending on usage, Three Towns typically stays up for between
9 hours (peak usage) and 20 hours between forced restarts.
